Click here to find out What happens at a Service on Sunday mornings. Some Sundays we will have a Cafe Connect or Drumming Circle instead.
Cafe Connect is an opportunity to gather informally with others on a Sunday morning to listen, talk and share hopes and ideas for deeper, more connected living and a better world. After introductory words, music and a reading, we invite a guest to speak on a particular theme with time for questions. Everyone has an opportunity to talk and share their reactions. Good quality coffee, tea and snacks are always on offer at Cafe Connect, and attendees are encouraged to circulate for refills during the gathering. There is a voluntary collection to support costs.
Experience mindful eating and meditation in a relaxed atmosphere at the Unitarian Meeting House. With its roots in Buddhism, 'mindfulness' can bring a wonderful sense of spiritual well-being. It is now used by mental health practitioners as well as those interested in the spiritual benefits. We will explore the concept through actually experiencing mindful meditation.
Talented percussionist Remi Fadare leads this uplifting spiritual experience every month. Using a variety of drums and percussion instruments, we explore the effects of sound and rhythm on our wellbeing. No experience necessary!
Every two months we meet to discuss a book we have read. It’s great to hear what other people think of the books we read, what they liked, what inspired them and what they didn’t like. The books vary from recent novels to books with a spiritual connection. It’s a great way of widening your reading. The books we discuss are on the website, so feel free to come along.
